Introducing: Mark Zwartkruis, Communications Officer

Last month I started as the new communications officer of the WildlifeNL project. Thanks in part to the warm welcome from my colleagues, I was able to find my place in this new challenge pretty quickly. There is still much to learn and discover, but I am convinced that I will be completely 'up-to-speed' in no time.

Introducing

Since graduating from Radboud University as a Communication Studies major in 2017, I have held various editorial and communication positions. From writing for various business-to-business magazines to communication jobs for various associations and institutes. In my free time, I spend most of my time writing, gaming, watching movies and hanging out with friends. I also enjoy sports and love music.

WildlifeNL and me

From my private life there are not many connections to the WildlifeNL project. You could argue that my overgrown cat (who regularly has a wild temper) is the closest thing. Still, I am very excited to be part of this project because it is so multidimensional. Complicated and manageable at the same time.

Living together with wildlife and exploring how this process can run more smoothly in the future is a complex task. At the same time, you can explain the subject in such a way that almost everyone can find common ground with his or her own life. Therefore, it is an issue on which many people do find something and have an opinion. That makes it extra interesting for me as a communications officer. I am therefore very much looking forward to doing my bit to reach and inform the large target group in which this subject lives in one way or another.
